Arsenal are leading the charge in the Premier League this season with the highest number of goals scored. Manchester United, on the other hand, have let in 28 goals over their last nine matches. Leandro Trossard has been on fine form, scoring in three of his last four outings.
Title contenders Arsenal are set to challenge Manchester United’s injury-plagued defence at Old Trafford. After a dismal 4-0 defeat at Selhurst Park on Monday, Erik ten Hag’s side are bracing for another challenging match. Arsenal, still vying for the Premier League title, have secured four consecutive victories, including a 3-0 win against Bournemouth last weekend. They’ve netted a total of 88 goals this season and face a Manchester United team struggling with numerous defensive injuries.
Defensive Challenges Continue for United
Manchester United are missing up to seven first-team defenders, likely leading Jonny Evans and Casemiro to team up in defence again after their difficult game at Crystal Palace. Casemiro struggled particularly, and it’s hard to see an improvement against an Arsenal team that has scored 13 goals in their last four matches.
Manchester United appear to have given up, particularly now that their Champions League hopes have faded, and Arsenal are fully motivated as they push the title race to its limits.
Trossard to Shine in an Arsenal Victory
Mikel Arteta’s team has consistently scored, netting at least three goals in ten of their sixteen Premier League matches since January, including each of their last five games. Given Manchester United have conceded 28 goals in their recent nine matches, backing Arsenal to score multiple goals seems a strong bet.
Arsenal have also maintained clean sheets in three of their last four games, while Manchester United have scored only once in their last two. A repeat of Arsenal’s recent 3-0 victory seems a plausible scoreline.
Leandro Trossard, now a regular starter, has the best goals-per-minute ratio of any Arsenal player and has scored in three of his last four appearances, making him a strong candidate for the anytime goalscorer market.
