Burnley vs Newcastle Preview

Newcastle have been in fine form recently, with three wins from their last four matches including emphatic 4-0 and 5-1 victories. Meanwhile, Burnley have struggled at Turf Moor this season, earning just ten points from a possible 51, marking them as having one of the poorest home records in the Premier League. Newcastle have also dominated their recent Premier League encounters with Burnley, winning the last five.

Burnley’s Battle Against Relegation

Burnley have shown signs of improvement lately, remaining unbeaten in their last three games at home. However, their overall home performance this season has been disappointing. They now face a Newcastle side that has been scoring freely, which does not bode well for the Clarets’ chances of closing the gap to safety.

Vincent Kompany’s team has managed to pick up points against teams like Brentford, Wolves, and Brighton recently, but none of these teams possess the attacking prowess that Newcastle does.

Newcastle’s Impact on the Relegation Fight

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle have been prolific, scoring 15 goals in their last six matches. With Burnley conceding 70 goals this season, only less than Sheffield United and Luton, Newcastle’s potent attack could potentially wreak havoc once again in Lancashire.

Their last meeting ended in a 2-0 win for Newcastle, and given their historical edge and current form, another win for the Magpies looks likely.

Despite some inconsistency away from home, Newcastle have shown they can turn it on when it counts, with significant away wins at Aston Villa, Fulham, and an 8-0 thumping of Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

Alexander Isak: will steer Newcastle to 3 points at EVENs

A key factor in Newcastle’s resurgence has been the form of Alexander Isak. The Swedish forward has scored seven goals in his last six games, bringing him close to the top of the Premier League scoring chart. With Burnley struggling to keep clean sheets, especially at home, Isak will be eyeing the opportunity to close the gap on the leading scorer, Erling Haaland.

Isak, who scored in the reverse fixture, is a good bet to score again as Newcastle look set to take all three points at Turf Moor.
